The Pet Feature

When you click an animal in FarmVille, it offers you the option to move, sell or pet the animal. What does the “pet” feature do? Turn on your speakers or turn up your sound and you’ll find out

While you could be forgiven for thinking the “pet” feature did something semi-intuitive, like make your avatar pet your selected creature, this feature just makes a sound. Pet a cow and it goes moo, pet a duck and it goes quack, etc. You do need to have your farm sounds turned on for this feature to work.

Update: As of the last week in September, petting your animals now animates them. You can pet an animal and it will alternately leap up or release hearts.

Rabbits are currently the only animal in FarmVille who do not have a pet option and are thus silent and inanimate.
