The humble barnyard chicken: often gifted, rarely kept due to its poor daily profit and relatively high resale value for low level players. They are, however, quite cute and can be profitable animals if you pack them 16 to a square like battery hens

Note: There is a known bug where, when placing a chicken, it will occasionally shrink to the size of a chick. It will normally revert to a grown chicken when you release your mouse. The only known fix is to move it again if it stays small – or leave it; you can still collect eggs.
