New Feature: Sweet Seeds
Zynga has just launched “Sweet Seeds for Haiti” a special FarmCash crop you can buy with 50% of the proceeds going to charity. These plants are unique in that they never wither and give maximum experience points, with a special gift in your gift box for you, too!
Sweet Potatoes are Zynga’s first foray into charity. The presentation is slightly confusing, but it boils down to this: Pay $5USD to purchase $25 in FarmCash, and then spend your $25FC on Sweet Seeds. $2.50 of this will go to two charities in Haiti, supporting farming, food and micro-loans in the 7th poorest country in the world. For more information on these charities, see this page:
Haiti is the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere and the 7th poorest in the world. Zynga's mission of connecting the world through games is enhanced by our opportunity to support the health and education of these children and their families. For additional information on the recipient organizations, please see www.FATEM.org and www.FONKOZE.org.
In return, you get one week to plant Sweet Potatoes, a reasonably profitable crop with two key features: it never withers, and gives +3 experience points (plus one more for plowing, totalling +4.) And, if you check your Gifts box, you’ll also find a very nice Sweet Seeds flag from Zynga to say thanks for supporting the project!
