Crops: Artichokes

Won’t be visiting your farm for awhile? Artichokes might be your solution. Because they take a lengthy 4 days to fully ripen, artichokes are a favorite for the out-of-town farmer. You can enjoy your vacation with the peace of mind of knowing that they do not even begin to spoil until well into their 8th day. Although you will receive 3 experience points total for planting a single patch of artichokes, they may not be the best choice for gaining the most experience in the quickest amount of time

Animals: Baby Elephants

The circus came to town in FarmVille, and for 48 hours only, FarmVille’s residents were able to gift each other baby elephants as a Limited Edition item. With a slightly better profit than brown cows, they are sure to be a rare and treasured item – until the circus returns!

Crop: Sweet Potatoes (Sweet Seeds)

Sweet Potatoes are the only crop that requires FarmCash to buy, though 50% of the profit does go to charity. They provide the maximum experience points (+4) for the one week you can plant them, and they’re ideal for vacations as they never wither

Crops: Squash

At level 4, you unlock your first crop: squash. They provide you with a 2-day crop which is more profitable (though same experience) than eggplants, your initial 2-day seed. Although squash doesn’t impart the experience and/or profit that strawberries potentially do, they are much less demanding in terms of harvest/wilt time. This makes squash ideal for the farmer-on-the-go

Crops: Wheat

Crops: Wheat

New farmers may be immediately drawn to wheat due to its high sale cost ($115). However, it takes a patient farmer to grow wheat, as the growth time is a lengthy 3 days. Admittedly, wheat does not have an especially high daily profit value if growing time and planting costs are taken into account. But it is not without its strengths; wheat is the perfect crop to plant if you know you won’t be around for several days. With a wither time of nearly a week, wheat stays ripe until you return

Crops: Eggplants

Although eggplants cannot boast the experience gains of strawberries nor the profit gains of soybeans, they can nonetheless be invaluable to lower-level players. Eggplants are the only 2-day growth crop available as you begin the game. Thus, they are a flexible, low-maintenance crop, perfect if you only visit your farm once every few days

Animals: Horse

They are big, they are brown, and did we mention they are really, really big? Horses are heavily traded as gifts, not for their harvest profit but because of their excellent resale value – horse trading nets you a cool $105 per animal

Animals: Rabbit

Rabbits are the ultimate high luxury, low-maintenance animal, giving angora wool once every four days at a reasonable profit. Unfortunately they do not breed like bunnies, so you have to get them as gifts
